Would you?

Traffic in b'lore city is a never ending story, but while you are struck in these " I wanna kill myself" traffic you get to observe people around you, its fun to watch uncles who scream loud into their cell phones, how aunties give that "what on earth look" at a couple, or how girl smiles into the phone, so on so forth.
One of things i saw today, was this guy on a bike, removed his helmet to talk over the phone, and his scarf falls down, it was when he was struggling to tie it back managing his helmet and the phone, I saw that it was flag, a flag of USA.
So whets the first thought you get, someone is flaunting his phirang status or liking towards that country,
We have seen people who wear jackets, Tee's which have some or the other country's flag on it, and the first reaction from anybody would be " oh look, he is showing off, that he is back from US / any other country, he has no respect for our nation, did he forget he was here more than 20 yrs here, and only few years in abroad and he has forgotten all his values..blah..blah"
But .. how will you react if you see anyone who is wearing a scarf, a jacket or a T-shirt, which has Indian flag on it??
Would you call it patriotism??
Would you that flaunting your strong INDIAN values??
Is it something, which will make our parents proud off?

About 3-4 years back, a famous designer, Malini Ramini, wore a dress which had Indian Flag imprinted on it,
Now that made a big news, not quite sure what exactly stirred up controversy, was it her dress, as it was spaghetti strapped knee length frock and "print" was our National flag, the "objections" was, how can she use our national flag on a dress like that??

So is it ok if it were a sari, a draped it typical Indian style, no hip blouses or any other designs!
Is it ok if it’s a kurtha pajama or a panche types??

Would you do something like that??

Something that never happened!

One of the frwds..

Walking through the breeze on calm evening
holding the hands I wish could hold once
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened

Feeling the touch I never felt
Still looking into the deep eyes I've never seen
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened

Feeling the pain of separation from
Someone I never knew
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened

Feeling her/his scent in every bit of me
and yet craving to smell it once in life
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened

Anticipating her/his response
to a proposal I never made
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened

Trying to forget something I never wanted to
Holding the breath, I had never taken
I'm nostalgic about something that never happened . . .

Tripped

A sleepy Wednesday morning...for the first time I was ready by 5:35..for my aerobics classes which is at 6AM ( i know THHHHAAAAAAAAAT early) ..thought i'll sleep for jus another 15 mints.. the place is jus 5 min ride from my home... that 15 minutes turned into 45 minutes..And finally had to go 7 o'clock batch..
All wide awake.. and ready to dance ..Err exercise.. half way through..and ..
A particular step where you jump kick on ur right...jump kick on ur left.. this is my fav steps from last week.. because i was getting perfectly right..
I jumped kicked my left.. jumped steped on my right foot.. and fell off..
I tripped on my own foot and fell off...
Thank god i was in the corner...not many people saw me fall off.. or rather.. only thr girl behind me saw.. and my instructor noticed it when i was on the floor.. at that moment.. all i did was ran to corner.. acted as if.. i was in terrible pain.. to avoid my embarrassment of falling..
The "stud" , instructor came and saw my plight. asked to go down.. and get some ice-pack on my foot..he even helped to walk up to the door... did i tell you he is one handsome stud!
Walked out.. and while getting down the stairs i realized how bad my foot was.. it was starting to swell..
After a few ice-packs.. few instructions form the stud..nah i never heard any.. i was too lost in the pain.. i so wish in his eyes but.. pain was too bad...
Later had to go see the Doc , i don't like Doctors.. no particular reason but the hospitals and Docs spook me out..
Was supposed to get the X-ray.. and i was wheel-chaired around.. man this was embarrassing..
My mum called at the same time.. my dad told my mum that i was moving around in a wheel-chair.. my mum thought i broke my leg.. man trust mom's to think the worst first!!!
They wrapped my leg in a crepe-bandage ..and another brown bandage.donno what this is..

"No Aerobics for a month" .. i was like..whhhhhhhhhat a month?? a month??
now thats bad.. had this was told to me..about 2 months back.. i would be over-joyed.. coz then i used to hate waking up early ( even now) and get to classes.. not now.. when i really enjoy this..

Stayed back home.today.. if i can limp tomorrow will get to office.. if not its gonna be a looooooong weekend at home!!
My boss is ultra cool.. Before me asking her , she told me get to office on monday... she is one helluva lady!!

I hate limping around.. its even more difficult with these bandages..
Gawd!Let me get back on feet sooooooooon!

Drunken Quotes

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed.
Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery
and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they
might be out of work. Then their hopes and dreams would be shattered.
Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let
their dreams come true, than to be selfish and worry about my liver."
-- Jack Handy

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the
morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
--Frank Sinatra

An intelligent man is sometimes forced to be drunk to spend time
with his fools.
--Ernest Hemingway

When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.
--Henny Youngman

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence?
--Stephen Wright

When we drink, we get drunk.
When we get drunk, we fall asleep.
When we fall asleep, we commit no sin.
When we commit no sin, we go to heaven.
Sooooo, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!
-- Brian O'Rourke

Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
--Benjamin Franklin

READER’S BLOCK and..

I have a reader’s block, if anything like that exists…
Most of my life, I completely freeked out on books, always got engrossed in them. to an extent I would loose my sleep over it..like most bookies (sad terminology) .
Apart from the usual comics, Tinkle, Archie’s, Tin-Tin, Atreix and Obelix (my fav), as a kid I mostly used to read Famous Five, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys.later moved onto
Enyid Blyton, one writer who made most of us salivate on Lemonade and candies, and summer time was so eagerly awaited.
This is when my mom started her usual mumblings…during my summer holidays
…………..Or so I remember.
Then it was time to read detective novels, Agatha Christi, Sherlock Homes and James Hadley Chase ruled most of my early teenage life.
The Hound of Baskeville had scared the shit out of me… I was 13 then.
Summer time ..the same mumblings..from amma
Exit Detective Novels.. Enter Thrillers.. hmm say romantic thrillers like Sidney Sheldon .
It was after 4-5 books, I realized Sidney Sheldon is a guy.
Had had enough of thrillers and detective stuff. .
I was totally lost in Daniel Steel, BT Bradford books; Woman of Substance is my Fav from Bradford.
The God Father rulez.. any day
Again mama being her usual self..
Then there was a serious addiction to M&B .I studied in an all-girls college for 2 yrs. it was during then the most of girls in my class were stuck to it, read the same book. and had endless talk about it. Not necessarily M&B all the time infact it was at this time I took into reading Literature. But soon kinda lost interest in them.
After I got into Engg.. it was mix of mostly Best sellers and the most popular fiction .Apart from ugly Engg books. which were worth burning..
I was so totally bugged of them, at that point of time I was seriously thinking of new genre or say different books.
My Mom..was seriously bugging me now..
I happen to read God of Small Things for 2nd time and it was my window towards Indian writers read most of them, Vikram Seth is Brilliant.
But tried hard to read some books by Salman Rushdie but was just not able to continue them. I found them totally clueless and higly boring. not my kinds I guess.
My mum’s mumblings ended here.. So did my college....
“ If u gave in so much interest for school/college books, as much you show for these novels, you would done much better .. or got a rank.. stood first.. blah..blah..blah” .This is what my mum always used to mumble about.. all the time.. same old thing..
And now when I have all the time in the world.. not exactly but at least I have enough time to read .. And I CANNOT READ..
The last book I read was Da Vinci code..
I have no clue what this phenomena is called but.. I just can’t finish a book.. infact cannot read beyond 20-30 pages I did buy a few really really good books.. and I’m not able read any of them..
I tried reading all kinds.. even went back to Enyid Blyton types.. still I just cannot read.
Sigh! Sigh! Sigh! ..Whatever is happening to me.???????????????

I just hope soon, very soon i will be able to come outta this..

Also another thought.. i guess most of ppl of "our" generation more or less had this reading habit, but kids nowadays..apart from play station or any of those computer games i guess they donno anything else..

Think of those days when we played ..Hopscotch ,house-house games with barbies .. ok we girls did that.. , lagoriee, hide n seek.. n lotsa outdoor games which is alien to kids nowadays..
and indoor games were Monoploy , Lotto n stuff..unlike these hi-tec games ,and the fany gizmos..
Honestly i pity these kids.. that reminds someday.. my kid is gonna miss all the fun too.........
